Take Your Next Steps

This phrase is a paraphrase of the famous words spoken by Neil Armstrong as he became the first man to walk on the moon. When Neil Armstrong said those historic words, he realized that he was the focal point of a grand plan that included thousands of people, millions of dollars, years of planning, and a lifetime of dreams. So much had gone into that Lunar Landing and so much had gone into the moonwalk, that he knew that he was fulfilling the dreams of a whole nation, and in truth, the collective dream of humanity to raise its consciousness to a new level. His step was not only his step, but symbolized a step forward for all humanity in raising its consciousness of what was possible as a part of God’s grand plan. He was one person, he took one step, and that step symbolically raised the consciousness of the planet to a higher level.

God’s grand plan continues, and it is still the same—to raise the consciousness of humanity as to what is possible. God has a plan and you are a part of it. As leaders in the metaphysical movement, you are playing an important role in moving the consciousness of humanity forward. Just like Neil Armstrong, each time you take a step forward, you also help others to step forward. Each time you raise your vibrational rate by taking a new class, healing an old wound, opening to more light, or simply by being the kindest, most loving, confident and powerful reflection of God’s light that you can be, you help humanity. When your light shines brighter, humanity’s light automatically shines brighter. As your light increases, it flows from you subtly, touches the energy centers, hearts and minds of others, and they then give themselves permission to shine a little brighter. Your light has the same ripple effect that dropping a pebble into a pond has—the ripples emanate outward, and you never know what the effects might be. The smile you give to a stranger may give him hope and peace where he had neither, and he may pass this hope and peace on, doing his part to move the world from despair to hope, and from chaos to harmony. Each step you take for yourself helps you to serve humanity better. So take your next steps, and here are some tips.

Unleash your inner elephant. An elephant is one of the strongest, most powerful creatures on earth, yet in a circus we see them tethered to a small spike in the ground by a small chain. Why does this huge, heavy animal stay tethered to such a small restraint? Because it doesn’t believe that it has the power to break free. When it was just an infant, it learned that if it was tethered, it couldn’t get away. Although that belief is no longer true, it is embedded so deeply in his mind that it is just as real as if it is true. Just like the elephant, we believe that we do not have the power to move through our constraints. However, in truth, our constraints only exist in our minds.

What beliefs do you hold that no longer serve you but keep you trapped in patterns that do not serve you? Do you believe that you are unworthy of taking that next step on your job? Do you believe that you will be disappointed if you take that next step in your spiritual life? Do you and others around you believe that there is some constraint holding your church from reaching its fullest potential? These beliefs may be based on old data. The earth has been flooded with light that brings new information and a new reality. We can operate with the new information. For example, at one point I didn’t believe my ministry or my Church was worthy of the growth and expansion that was a natural part of being a center of light. We believed that July was the slowest month of the year. We turned it into “Prosperity Month” and it was among the most prosperous months. We believed that we didn’t deserve our own home where we could control our physical and financial destinies. However, we thwarted this belief and you raised $30,000 by June 30. You are unlimited as a part of God’s Plan when you take your next step and release your Inner Elephant from your stake and chain.

What is your stake? What has you tethered in one place, unable or unwilling to move forward? If you don’t know, just look around you. It is shown to you in the conversations you have with others and the situations that are created in your outer world. Release it to God in prayer, meditation and inner work so that you realize that your path is ordained by God. As you let your God self take over, that is your inner elephant and you take your next step. As you take your next step, it helps others to take the leap of faith.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO BE AMAZING

A young lady I knew hid her test results from her boyfriend because she didn’t want her boyfriend to be intimidated. She feared that if she was different, he would feel small, and she would not have the love that she wanted or needed, so she betrayed a part of herself and later in the series wondered why he betrayed her. It is human nature to want to fit in. But you have to ask yourself, “Do you really want to fit in to the pain, suffering, lack and drama that you see around you, or do you want to fit into the kingdom of heaven that awaits you when you open to the amazing light that lives within you that can heal and transform your life, and by default help heal and transform the lives of others?” It is human nature to fit in, but it is God’s nature to be amazing. When you open to the amazing path of God through prayer, meditation, self-awareness, self healing, personal spiritual growth and joy, you let the amazing light of god shine through you more freely.

In the words of Marianne Williamson: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us most. We ask ourselves: who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some of us; it's in everyone. As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

"Don't be afraid to be amazing." It is your job to be amazing, because when you take that one small step for you, you also do it for humankind.

Take a small step. When you play horseshoes, when you throw the horseshoe, if the stake is 20 feet away, you only have a small chance of getting the horseshoe around the stake. However, if you only have to throw it 3 feet, it is highly likely that you will get a ringer. Make a 3 foot toss instead of a long and risky throw. Take one small step. Every journey begins with one step. Any journey will seem intimidating when you look at the distance that you have to travel. However, if you just focus on your next small step, that is easy.

Never, ever give up. There will be days of doubt. There will be days that it doesn’t look like you think your life is supposed to look. There will be days that your spiritual experience will not look like it is supposed to look. There will be days when your Church doesn’t look like you envisioned it. There will be days of chaos. These are the most creative days that are preparing you for something bigger and better. We all know that if you want to make an omelet, you have to break the eggs. However, when you break the eggs, chop the ham, slice the onions and carve the cheese, nothing looks like it did before and the onions make you cry. We’re uncertain because it doesn’t look like it will look once it is cooked. That is because God isn’t finished with it yet. God isn’t finished with you yet either. God isn’t finished with your family yet. God isn’t finished with your spiritual experience yet. But just like God is the invisible chef that ensures the omelet is going to come out just to your liking, God is the guiding force that guides your life for its greatest good. So when you have those days of doubt, know that God is on your side and God has your back, and never, ever ever ever ever give up, even in the midst of divine chaos and divine uncertainty.

In summary, God’s grand plan continues and it is still the same—to raise the consciousness of humanity as to what is possible. God has a plan and you are a part of it. As leaders in the metaphysical movement, you are playing an important role in moving the consciousness of humanity forward. Just like Neil Armstrong, each time you take a step forward, you also help others to step forward. One small step for you helps support a giant leap forward for humanity. So take your next step, make it a small manageable step, and never ever ever ever ever give up because God has your back.
