Betrayed By God
Noted Psychologist Dr. Dolores Cummings noticed one day that her dog suffers separation anxiety. She then noted that we ALL have a mild case of separation anxiety because we feel separate from the loving, active, present God that would protect us, provide for us, and keep us in peace and joy. When we feel separate from this force, we feel anxious, fearful, and guilty (like prodigal children who have been banished from the Garden). It is difficult for us to contact these feelings because they are often quite subconscious. However, the events in our lives are designed to trigger these feelings so that we can become aware of them and use the Grace of God to heal them. Often we feel abandoned and betrayed by God because we don’t sense the security of his presence. We emit the energy “I feel abandoned and betrayed by God” and draw to us the circumstances that cause us to become more aware of this subconscious “separation anxiety”. * Our distress causes us to call out for a deeper awareness of God’s presence, a miracle occurs: our perception begins to gradually shift. We begin to perceive the loving, grace-filled energy of God with us and around us. We begin to have a sense of inner peace and our outer world becomes peaceful and joyful as a result because our outer world is always a reflection of our inner consciousness.
